"THREE WALNUTS"(2019)
"IF YOU GET LOST IN THE STORY, THINK ABOUT THE WALNUTS"

SYNOPSIS
A daughter inquires her mother, who is near the end of her life, about the mysterious suicide of her father 33 years ago. And her mother responds by recounting three bizarre and supernatural versions of her last day with him.
DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
The story of "Three Walnuts" comes from a very vulnerable place of my heart, where I store my innermost fears and contemplation of the world. While I was writing the story, a very close family friend committed suicide for seemingly no reason. I could not help but wonder how the survivors will react and cope with the rest of their lives after such an unpredicted, traumatic event.
If human senses and memories are unreliable, how do we know the truth? Does such truth even exist? Will we, in the long duration of our lives and in those sleepless nights, reimagine and reconstruct past events and reform countless different versions of the story? If so, are these reinventions truer than truth or do they hold no value against data and facts? To explore further into such questions, I invite my audience to come with me to the border of fiction and reality to decide for themselves.
